3 Ways to personalize eclectic style

3 Easy Ways to Personalize

Eclectic Style

Interior design and fashion trends evolve with our changing lifestyles. These trends are rooted in a shift towards intentional living, replacing quick, superficial design with a more thoughtful and quality-focused approach.

Trends are dynamic, reflecting the ever-changing world and mirror the tastes, values, and needs of society.

Today, we’re delving into one trend that can be interpreted across various design styles. I’ve always advocated against one-size-fits-all designs, championing the concept of designing for Intentional Living. While every designer has their unique style, we are well-equipped to collaborate with clients who have diverse design preferences.

Eclectic design, known for its organic, personalized and original nature, can be seamlessly translated into minimalist, boho, or luxe interior designs.

1.

MINIMALIST ECLECTIC

A minimalist interpretation of eclectic style introduces a serene blend of textures.

If you lean towards light woods, clean lines, and subdued hues, you can infuse a touch of ‘Electisim’ by incorporating select vintage pieces that seamlessly complement your aesthetic with hints of colour, varied textures, or unique lines. The key here is choosing items that are striking, distinctive, and purposeful, such as bold hardware or unconventional upholstery choice.

By making a handful of bold aesthetic statements, the focus shifts from a specific colour palette to the diverse range of materials, adding visual intrigue and personality through carefully curated pieces.

TIP: Thrift stores are a great place to find interesting and affordable vintage objects on a budget.

2.

LUXE
ECLECTTIC

Luxurious eclecticism takes centre stage in a more vibrant and lively manner.

This style boldly fuses classical and contemporary furniture designs within a glamorous eclectic setting. In this daring aesthetic, high-end sculptures seamlessly mingle with vintage treasures, all while staying true to traditional influences.

Elevating the opulence, glamorous chandeliers and subtle brass accents are strategically placed, emphasizing a commitment to quality materials and exquisite craftsmanship. To master this style, the key lies in presenting it with a modern twist, where the juxtaposition of contrasting textures and materials, such as plush velvet, sleek leather, and natural stones, plays a crucial role in creating a sophisticated and tactile experience.

TIP: For a sophisticated look don’t over do the gold and avoid being gaudy.

BOHOA
ECLECTIC

The boho style is like setting your creativity free in your living space.
It’s all about going big with a free-spirited, maximalist attitude, where you seamlessly blend various artistic creations and embrace the richness of different cultures. The key to making it work is thoughtful curation – finding that sweet spot between a visually pleasing mix of colors, patterns, and unique finds, and a chaotic mishmash of randomness. It’s about creating order in the chaos, giving each element a purpose and place.
So, let the vibrant energy flow, curate with intention, and enjoy the lively, eclectic atmosphere you’ve crafted, putting your own personal touch on it with unconventional decor choices that make your space uniquely yours.
TIP: Balance the colours with intention or it can get very kitschy.
